Bangkok, March 14, 2025 – Mr. Akarin Prathuangsit Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of WHA Utilities & Power Public Company Limited (WHAUP), representing WHA Corporation Public Company Limited (WHA Group), participated in the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Thailand CCUS Alliance (TCCA). The initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) technologies in Thailand. The event took place at Novotel Future Park Rangsit.

This landmark agreement marks a collaborative effort between the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and key industry partners, including WHA Group, demonstrating a shared commitment to addressing climate change while promoting sustainable industrial development. The initiative particularly focuses on enhancing greenhouse gas management in the utilities and energy sectors, aligning with increasingly stringent national and international environmental standards.

WHA Group has set a clear ambition to achieve Net Zero Emissions by 2050, following the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). In the short term, the company targets a 42% reduction in absolute greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2) by 2030, while also focusing on lowering Scope 3 emissions through improved emissions intensity for investments.

By actively supporting the advancement of CCUS technologies, WHA Group aims to foster an eco-friendly industrial ecosystem, contribute to global Net Zero goals, and elevate Thailand’s industrial sector toward a sustainable future—reinforcing its commitment under WHA: WE SHAPE THE FUTURE.
