Bangkok, December 2008. Nahm Sanitaryware Co., Ltd., the producer and distributor of modern sanitaryware recently signed a contract to purchase 44 rai of land at S I L Industrial Land (Saraburi) managed by Hemaraj Land And Development Plc.

The land purchase is in line with Nahm’s plan to expand production and increase sales following its recent merger with Villeroy & Boch, the European premium-brand for bath and wellness and tableware product, whose headquarter is in Germany.

According to Mr.Sumet Indamra, Vice President-Marketing & Export of Nahm Sanitaryware Co., Ltd., “The reason for Nahm to select S I L Industrial Land for its new plant is because of the strategic location on the main highway 1which serves as logistic hub of the country, allowing efficient transportation of Nahm products to all regions of Thailand and providing ideal access to Don Muang and Suvarnabhumi airports for exports to overseas markets. In addition Saraburi is also known for its wealth of human and natural resources coupled with a highly skilled labor force in surrounding areas. The industrial land is also well equipped with infrastructure, communications and facilities needed for worry free operation.”

Once operated, the manufacturing facility in S I L Industrial Land will enable Nahm to increase its production capacity from 500,000 pieces a year to more than 1,000,000 pieces within two years. Villeroy & Boch successfully integrates Nahm into the Group, especially into the second brand portfolio – leveraging on Villeroy & Boch’s 260 year know-how and innovative technology for design and creativity.

“The fifth rank of sanitaryware producers allover the world, Villeroy & Boch is visioned as a symbol of innovation, creativity and quality. Our products have been acknowledged from customers in 125 countries”. said Burkhard Schmidt, International Sales Director Sanitary and Furniture Bathroom & Wellness Division of Villeroy & Boch AG.

Enlarging and developing its production capacity the Nahm production will be of high importance to reach the strategic goal of Villeroy & Boch group: to grow strongly and continuously on the domestic and Asian market.
