Leading Refrigerator Component Producer SMAT Expands at Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate

SMAT (Thailand) Co., Ltd, a major supplier of refrigerator components to Samsung, recently signed a contract to rent a SME factory building at Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate (Rayong) developed by Hemaraj Land And Development Plc. In addition to its existing production capacity, the company will assemble 4,500 sets each per month of suction pipe, condenser pipe and hot gas. The new assembling plant will be operational by June 2006.

SMAT is a joint venture company between Korea and Japan with a registered capital of Baht 15 million. Currently, the company supplies refrigerator components mainly to Samsung and Fujitsu. At the new building, the company will assemble additional parts for supplying to its prospective customers such as Hitachi, Toshiba and Sanyo.
