Hemaraj Joins Hand with CAT to Provide Ultra High Speed Telecom to Its Customers

22/01/2010
Bangkok – 22 January 2010: Hemaraj Land And Development Public Company Limited has signed an MOU with CAT Telecom Public Company Limited to kick off its Bt600-million “Ultra High Speed Telecommunications Network” project.

Managed and implemented by CAT, the project is destined to upgrade telecommunications infrastructure across Hemaraj’s industrial estates and at its UM Tower to ensure higher efficiency, reliability and availability to the needs of existing and prospective entrepreneurs and investors.

Under the MOU, CAT will provide the industrial estates and the headquarters building with an access to ultra high speed communications network, using the country’s first FTTF (Fiber-to-the-Factory) platform. The new infrastructure is a variant of the innovative FTTx (Fiber To The X) broadband access infrastructure that uses fiber optics instead of traditional, low performance copper telephone wire.

Mr. David Nardone, President & CEO of Hemaraj Land And Development Plc, said: “Our latest investment in technology development ensures a higher level of fast and effective telecoms infrastructure within our industrial estates and headquarters building. This will enable Hemaraj to better serve more than 500 existing customers and prospective clients. We are very delighted to work with CAT, the national telecommunications network provider who delivers both domestic telecoms solutions and access to international secured networks.”

CAT is gearing up for all FTTF installations that line along main road networks within the Hemaraj’s industrial estates using Underground Air Blown Fiber System. The shift to the underground FTTF infrastructure is expected to help remove untidy cable installations on electric masts without obstructing the view within the premises.

The project is divided into two phases: the FTTF infrastructure development and then the Carrier Neutral Data Center in the near future. CAT is responsible for installation and integration works as Hemaraj provides space (in industrial estates and at UM Tower) for that purpose and manages the marketing function of the project.

The network installations will start very soon with Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate (Rayong) and the adjacent Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate, which are the key locations of automotive industry in Thailand.
