Hemaraj and Vocational Education Commission to offer 4,000 positions in Hemaraj Job Fair

Bangkok, January 2007 – Hemaraj Land And Development Plc, Thailand’s leading developer of industrial estates in cooperation with Vocational Education Commission (VEC) organized Hemaraj Job Fair on January 27, 2007 at Rayong Technical College. More than

4,000 positions were offered to job seekers from Mattayom 3 to Bachelor’s Degree. The aim of this fair is to supply human resources to Hemaraj’s customers in 6 industrial estates in Rayong, Chonburi and Saraburi. This fair has turned out to be a big success with huge participation from new vocational graduates and job seekers. In addition, Hemaraj awarded Baht 374,000 scholarship to Rayong Technical College for Por Vor Chor and Por Vor Sor student

As Thailand’s leading developer of 6 industrial estates with customer investment estimated at U.S.$ 11 billions, Hemaraj Land And Development foresees an importance of coordination with the public sector on human resources. As the result, Hemaraj Job Fair was organized, offering more than 4,000 positions from 41 leading international factories in Hemaraj’s industrial estates in Rayong, Chonburi and Saraburi seeking for graduates from Mattayom 3 to Bachelor’s Degree in various fields. In this fair, Hemaraj also awarded full board scholarships of 374,000 Baht to Rayong technical college for Por Vor Chor and Por Vor Sor students.

Hemaraj Land And Development Plc’s President and CEO, Mr. David Nardone said, “Por Vor Chor and Por Vor Sor graduates are the main human resource of industrial estates especially in industrial mechanics, electronics and machatronics. Therefore, Vocational Education Commission plays a vital role in supporting and providing skilled labor to industrial sector. Hemaraj Job Fair was a pioneer coordination between Hemaraj and VEC to select skilled vocational graduates for customers operating in our industrial estates. This is very useful for foreign industrial investors looking to establish their business with Hemaraj Land And Development.

This fair also motivates Thai students to join vocational colleges in Thailand. Future coordination between Hemaraj Land And Development and Vocational Education Commission will entail technical training for students and curriculum development. For the scholarships, this is one of Hemaraj’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs to give returns to Thai society.

In the near future our several projects together will help Vocational Education Commission to better develop curriculum and our students, especially in favor of Thailand’s direction as automotive and electronic hubs.”

About Vocational Education Commission

Vocational Education Commission (VEC) is one of the five main sections in Ministry of Education. Its role is to provide graduates of excellent vocational skills for industries. At present, there are approximately 1,000,000 students under direct operations of VEC: 600,000 students in Por Vor Chor and Por Vor Sor certificate curriculums and 300,000 from short vocational courses for general public. Currently, there are 404 nationwide vocational colleges under VEC’s direct supervision, 20 of which located in Eastern Seaboard.
