Siam Malaya Glass Organizes First Column Installation Ceremony at S I L Industial Land (Saraburi)

Siam Malaya Glass (Thailand) Co., Ltd (or “SMGT”), a producer of glass bottles organized the first column installation ceremony for its manufacturing plant at S I L Industrial Land (Saraburi), managed and developed by Hemaraj Land And Development Plc.
In line with the expansion of the beverage market, SMGT purchased 53 rai of land at S I L Industrial Land (Saraburi) to set up the bottle manufacturing plant with a production capacity of 70,000 tons of beer bottles, supplementary drink bottles, and wide/narrow mouth bottles. Construction of the plant has begun in February 2006 and the plant is expected to be operational by October 2007. SMGT, which has a registered capital of Baht 660 million, is a Malaysian-Thai joint venture in which Malaya Glass Products Sdn Bhd, a group company of Frazer & Neave Holdings of Malaysia, Thai Asia Pacific Brewery Co., Ltd, and Siam Glass Industry Co., Ltd hold 70%, 20% and 10% stakes respectively.
SMGT will supply the bottles to various leading beer and supplymentary drink brands. The company chose S I L Industrial Land (Saraburi) to set up its manufacturing facility in view of its proximity to its customer base and the high quality infrastructure.
