AW (THAILAND) Co., Ltd. Lays Foundation Stone at the Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 2

Event marks soft opening of Hemaraj ESIE 2, equipped to serve automotive sector and hi-tech businesses

Chonburi, 10 July 2015 – AW (THAILAND) Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aisin AW Co. Ltd., recently organized a foundation stone-laying ceremony to launch the construction of its new manufacturing facility at the Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 2 (Hemaraj ESIE 2).

The world leader in automatic transmissions and car navigation systems, AISIN AW Co. Ltd., has established AW (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and will invest 4.65 Billion Baht in this project where 120,000 units can be produced per year. Once operational in July 2017, the plant will initially supply the local market, but will be mapping plans to respond to the expanding demand of automatic transmission customers within ASEAN.

AW (THAILAND) Co., Ltd., also marked the first customer to the new launch of Hemaraj ESIE 2, Hemaraj’s 8th industrial estate located in the Eastern Seaboard. Covering 3,669 rai, it is strategically located on Highway 331 Sri Racha, Chonburi Province, close to the Laem Chabang deep sea port, as well as Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate (Rayong) and Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 1 that comprise the automotive cluster.
